Fishing with Aliens and Animals: HackWE 3.0 is a Wrap!

Sunday, October 26th, participants gathered for the final time for HackWE 3.0 at the Green Bean Cafe. They demonstrated their projects to judges and the public.
Two student teams and two professional teams competed. Students Meghan O’Donnell and Meagan Park discussed their work using endangered species data. Student Jason Ly talked about how he used data on the water quality of the Detroit River. Parallel 42, one of our professional teams, presented “What’s in the Water,” sports fishing consumption advisory, water quality information web app. Team Bison brought bison migration to life with the help of some alien friends in a real time visualization.
Judges were Bob Price, Analyst Programmer for the City of Windsor; Renee Pare, Sales Director for Next Dimension; Frank Abbruzzese, President of AlphaKOR Group; and Heather Pratt, Executive Director, Research & Innovation, University of Windsor.
