A Sad Goodbye to Terry McAlinden

IMG_0027

It’s with a heavy heart that we report Hackforger Terry McAlinden has passed away after a long fight with cancer.

Terry was so important to Hackforge and his influence will continue to shape the organization. He was a good friend to me, answering my tech questions and giving me guidance and words of wisdom as I grew into my role at Hackforge. I’m left with his humour, encouragement, and enthusiasm for Hackforge being a (tidy) community space for everyone.

Sarah Morris
Hackforge Managing Director

The goal of the night is to connect women who are working in science, technology, engineering and math fields, or related to them. We welcome everyone curious about the industry to come by.

Part of the Computer Girls initiative is to promote mentorship, networking, and support for women already working or looking to start tech careers in Windsor.

Anita’s Network is named after American computer scientist Dr. Anita Borg and her goal of 50% women in computer science. She was a researcher for Xerox PARC and founded the Institute for Women and Technology.
